SLK-700, but if you get the SLK-700, you might as well get the SLK-800 which is similarly priced as the SLK-700.

You can't use 80mm fans with the SLK-700. overclockers.com has the SK-7 rated higher than the SLK-700 because the SK-7 can use 80mm fans.

SLK-700: Stepped fins to hold 60mm, 70mm and 74mm (TMD) fans

SK-7: Steping fins to hold 80mm fan as well as 70mm fan (incl. TMD fan)

Overclockers.com heatsink rating

SVC.com has the SLK-700 for $30 and the SK-7 for $16.

the sk-7 pricing at svc is useless, cause it's out of stock. it's been like that for a while

i was looking at prices elsewhere and wrote it down. i can find the document later if someone wants

In Canada, the SLK-700 is cheaper than the SK-7 and the SLK-700 comes with a fan. The SLK-800 is almost double the price of the SLK-700.

So if the SLK-700 is cheaper than the SK-7, how does the cooling of the SLK-700 compare to the SK-7 (with a decent fan)?

sidewindercomputers.com has both of them for $20 then... SK-7 would be more flexible. :)

Ya, I have been trying to order from SVC.com for a while now but outa stock. So I go to sidewindercomputers and i see both sk-700 and sk-7 for $20. You would think that the sk-700 would be better since it is priced for much more in most places...

looks like the SLK-700 has the more efficient design (the SLK copper triangle gets a lot of fin contact and takes into account that fans dont blow much in the center), but the SK-7 is still good and can take 80mm fans easily. For that reason I'd go with the SK-7 over the SLK-700, because you can have more airflow and/or more quiet.
