Thermalright SK6+

Quick question, I just came across a Sk6+ and I know its a older model but how do you think it would hold up for overclocking a 2500+ barton. I will be useing a 40+ cfm YS tec 60mm fan on it. Just need something to hold me over till I get my watercooling setup. I have been hearing good things about the stock heatsink that AMD gives, just hopeing that this one will give abit of more headroom.
Any help is appricated.

It's a pretty decent heatsink. With a 40cfm 60mm fan you should be ok for a while. I wouldn't want to be sitting in the same room as your computer though! :Q

Are you planning on purchasing the SK6 or do you already have it in your possession? I wouldn't buy it if I was thinking about overclocking though. I'd just order the retail version of the 2500+ and use that heatsink as a stop gap until your w/c setup comes in.

I picked up one already got it for 9 bucks with a thermalright fan, figured why not for that price.

I found that I can get a 80mm fan clipped on there, not a perfect fit but its snug. I do have the retail AMD heatsink as well.
