I have a thermalright sk-6 with the ytech 40 cfm fan and artic silver 2 on my athlon 1.4 ghz....
This is one loud computer, anyway, i got this setup for overclocking but now i got a new setup.

My question is, can i get a QUIETER fan with around 30 cfm?
If so will it still cool enough for my 1.4 athlon?
Where can i buy fans from?

Thank You! My ears will appreciate it very much!!

I had a 38cfm Delta on mine, but felt it was a bit too loud. I switched to a 33cfm Pabst 60mm fan, and had no change in temps at all. The Pabst is much quieter than the Delta, or YS Tech fans.

Sorry, I don't have a link for the Pabst fan...I can't remember where I got mine. You can hear various fan noises HERE. They don't have the 40cfm YS Tech fan listed, but they have the Delta.

Also: The way you use an 80mm fan on an SK-6 is to have the fan at an angle on the top of the heatsink. The longer clips should have the reach to secure the fan. You will need a higher cfm fan.

MaDHaVoK: You don't need an adaptor to use an 80mm fan with your SK-6 heatsink. Just turn the fan kitty-corner to the heatsink and hook the clips over two corners of the fan. It works.
