Thermalright HR-07 users?

im sorry but this maybe a little off topic, but it relates to the product.

Why would one need to drop big cooling devices like that on ram? Also i think it requires the removal of stock heat spreaders, and that would void warrenty.

And if you say its to keep the ram cooler so you can overclock higher, then that would mean its only ment for high performance ram, which come with Heat spreaders, and removal of them would be a great loss in investment.

So why did thermalright make a product like this? Thats what i would like to know.

BTW i have the crab memory cooler by sunbeam. It keeps my ram cool to the touch even oc'd. So i really dont see the point in this product. Can someone explain to me?

To lower the temperature of the module @ higher clock frequencies.

Some memory modules don't come bundled with Heat spreaders.

So that they can offer a product to the DRAM makers like Super Talent, etc.

Would you question the 20 other Memory heat spreader products on the market as well by other manufactures?

The point of the thread isn't to question the validity of the product. It's to know whether or not the product provided a benefit.

Well thats what rally and i are wondering. This product would only be good for VALUE RAM, and not the high performance RAM. I cant see myself removing the heat spreaders to have 300 dollar ram's lifetime warrenty voided. Thats why im asking why does this exist?

When you overclock you void the warranties anyway, so if you are going to overclock and overvolt the RAM then who cares if you pull the stock heatspreaders off? You've already planned to void the warranty.

well as long as you don't overvolt the memory than they really can't prove it

edit: sorry fraud 😛
