Looking for cooling for my NB. I have a DS3 and want some better NB cooling action!

$25 shipped seems alot for it but the reviews say it is hard to put on. the review with the DS3 guy I don't trust at all I think might be a poser. 20 degree drop ain't happening.

I have one on a 650i board. A fan is necessary IMO. Without a fan it got almost unbearably hot to the touch.

God Mode, the 650i chipset runs a lot hotter than the P965, especially with how few voltage options the Gigabyte has. I'm getting an HR-05 with my water loop in another two weeks, I can post results then if you still want them EXman.

I got HR-05 and put it on my DS3 version 1.3.
I could not install my Themalright Ultra-120 extreme with the orientation intended. I had to install it such that it blew air up towards the PSU instead of back towards the exhaust.

I then got HR-05-SLI. It would not fit because it would hit the cooler on my graphics card (VF900)! I have modified the HR-05-SLI installation clip. Now, everything fits fine.

After I rotated the CPU cooler to the intended orientation, the CPU cooling improved by a few degrees.

I use a Noctua NC-06. I think it's slightly larger than the HR-05. I put a 60mm fan on it running at 5v and it's dead silent.

If it was me... I'd go with a Noctua NC-U6 instead of a Thermalright HR-05!

It's considerably smaller, easier to mount, and will probably cool better... ;)

ohhhh.... just cuz you recomended it, ima have to try it vin.

I watercool both the P965 and P35. But if vin is recomending the noctuna, i would go with his advice.

ON a side NOTE:
The HR-09U Mosfet cooler WILL NOT FIT on the Gigabyte P35 chipset. Dont bother buying it, i wasted 40 dollars for something that wont fit. :T
