i was checkin on newegg for a friend for a cpu cooler and i recommended the ultra-120 but i realized that that is no longer instock? i saw the HR-01 and realized it was like the same exact cooler... did they discontinue the ultra-120 and replace it with this hr thing?

No, NewEgg just never has it in stock (or at least I've never seen it in stock).
Get it for $42.99 at SVC.
http://www.svc.com/ultra-120.html

HR-01 is not the same, HR-01 is designed for passive/fanless cooling.

Ultra120 is designed to use active/fan cooling.

Nice price on a great cooler! If you get it there is a simple mod you can do to get the HSF mounted a little more securely. Check extremesystems forum aircooling for a lengthy discussion.

Man 99 for the lapped version....4 dollars and 20 minutes of work if you do it yourself.
