Thermalright AX-7 or SVC GC68? What do you think...

Basically, i cant stand my delta screamer anymore. 🙂

I have a Lian-Li PC65 casebeing delivered which will (im sure) help with my current cooling, but i want to replace my HSF too. The two im considering are the AX-7 and the GC68. I would get the AX-7 but i cant seem to get any definitive answers on whether or not it will fit my Mobo. (ASUS A7A266) I know for a fact that the Alpha Pal8045 wont fit. Which do you think i should get? I dont plan to overclock and noise is definately an issue, but i was thinking the GC68 with a Panaflo 80mm High fan might be fine...

What do you reccomend i do?

That GC68 is pretty big. It just barely fit onto my Soyo Dragon+. You might want to double check that it will work with your mobo. (Of course it is like $17 shipped so you could always just risk it.)

Very quiet (Using the stock 28dba fan.), very nice. A bitch to install.

Maybe the people selling it would know? I dunno. I just blindly ordered mine and hoped for the best. Tho I was prepared to route a capacitor sized section out of it if necessary. 🙂

According to the pictures, the long end goes away from the "ledge" on the socket.... I have a row of capacitors down that end that im curious if it would clear, prolly about 18-19mm tall...

I have the SVC GC-68 on an Asus A7V266-E and it fits fine. Plenty of clearance all around. Plus it cools alot better then the Volcano 6cu+ I had. Another plus for the GC-68 is it's weight, within AMD specs for the chipset.
