Thermally Controlled fan question

I just bought two adaptec 80mm smart fans from best buy to put in the bottom front of my case (after pulling them out of the package I realized that they were thermaltake TT-8025T so the 46 CFM/2900RPM @ 27 DBA might be a little off but)

My epox 9npa sli has no plug for the thermostat wire that comes off the fan, so my question is... If I run it without the thermo plugged in will it run at the full speed which is 5000 RPMs?

IIRC, the thermostat is actually a wire with a colored blob at the end of it. You don't need to plug it in anywhere for the temp. controlled feature to work.

The extra (single wire) connection is a separate RPM monitor to monitor the fan speed. It's there so that you can plug the fan directly to the PSU through the 4-pin passthrough, and still monitor the fan speed.

Unfortunately, if you power the fan through the motherboard, you'd have to plug in two 3-pin connectors to monitor speed. So I'd recommend plugging it in through the PSU and plugging that single wire into a 3-pin motherboard header.

EDIT: if you wanted to, you could combine the two 3-pin connectors into one. Probably better off powering that fan through the PSU, but it could be done without any conflicts.
