Thermal probe on video card

I have Hardcano fan controller and LCD readout temperature probe. I thought about putting it on the CPU but one I really didn't know the actual placement and then I thought about it more and figure it might be sort of counterproductive considering the mobo has sensors. So i figured I should put it on my vid card but I dont know where and how to attach it.

Im just worried if I put it on the CPU it could interupt some of the conductivity between the HSF and the CPU.

You attach the probe to the underside of the processor, the side with the pins. Don't put it on the side with the heatsink, why would you do that?

Putting it on the GPU would be a bad idea. Just don't do that. You would have to remove the heatsink and put it in between that and the GPU, which would be bad.

I've read so many different places to put it. One under the CPU like you said and the other off to the side of the die. I've heard placing it under could sometimes cause problems with the pins and ive read that between the HSF and CPU would disrupt conductivity which makes sense in my eyes. Under the CPU made more sense to me but I didn't want to chance anything.

Thats also a reason I sorta thought about just putting it on my video card. Simple easy way to just pop it on the card somewhere.

I put mine under the processor, where thermaltake tells you to put it in the manual. Don't literally put it in between the pins. Just run the wires through the pins and set the probe in the middle.
