I have about half a tube left of Arctic Silver 3 and am about to get a new CPU. Should I get a new tube of Arctic Silver 5 or are they both basically the same product?
 
nah its not important.. you dont even *need* a heatsink or fan!

ok im lying, you should get some as-5, its as good as it gets.

the reason it is so important is because it basically fills in the microscopic gaps between the heatsink and the cpu. it is a vital component of your cooling system, do not skimp on it.
