Thermal paste, thermal epoxy etc etc

Got some questions for the never ending knowledge of the anand collective brain 😉
I got a MSI 815e PRO, and noticed it has no HS or fan on the chipset, and lemmie tell ya its gets very hot to the touch.
Well I have two stock pentium and 486 cpu coolers that will fit perfectly fine on the 815 chip as well as my geforce chip.
But what I cant find is anything to stick them on with.
I went to every radio shack looking for some kind of thermal paste, they have none and had no idea.
So bottom line, what do i need and where can I get it.
Thanks for the input

You can order (or request a free sample) of themal conductive epoxy from these guys: http://www.chemtronics.com

The stuff is silver-based and work extremely well in transfering heat, but it's also electrically conductive as well, so be careful applying it.

Please explain, I want do use it on a duran.
Thanks

Do not spatter any of this stuff on the PCB, the chip's pins, or any where else that has contact points. Doing so will complete an electrical circuit and you wind up shorting the device and/or component. Use just enough to cover the surface of the chip with no oozing over the sides - no more than that.

Will I be able to remove the HS later w/o damaging the Chip?
I might need to if my pencil connection (duron golden bridges)get ereased or something.
Also I still did not succseed finding the silver stuff. Radio shack guy only knows about reguler heat sink compound and does it realy matter that much.
Thank You

Ive seen something at radio shack called a "heat sink pen"
and it was a pen, but the guy said it woudlnt stick like glue.
Basically they didnt know jack.
Ill check out that part number thanks.

The regular heatsink compound at Radio Shack is not an adhesive. You can only use this stuff provided that you have another means (like clamps or pins) to secure the heatsink onto the CPU or chip.

And yes. Thermal epoxy is a permanant solution. Once on, it's there to stay.

You can use regular thermal grease (not epoxy) with a small dab of silicone adhesive at each of the 4 corners of your cpu core to attach a heatsink. It forms a secure bond that can be cut with a utility knife if you need to remove the cpu. This is not quite as good as using thermal epoxy, but it is undoable and forms a nice, tight bond between your CPU and cooler.
