Thermal Paste that came with mobo

I just got a Soyo Sy-KT600 Dragon Plus v1.0 from newegg. I was planning on getting a Athlon 2400, cheap heatsink, and some artic silver 5 for it. But I opened up the box and noticed that it came with some heatsink compound to use when you apply a heatsink. Now this computer isn't going to be overclocked at all. Will this thermal compound get the job done then?

That's what it's there for use it. The Best thing you can do is a thin layer, just enough to fill the microscopic vallys and make contact, not AS or any other compound. Now assuming same TIM AS will give about 10% cooler readings.

Yep, use it. You can always do otherwise if it is not up to your expectations. I use whatever comes with the HSF or Mobo. Never used AS and still am OC'ing. But, I might be able to lose 2C with the expensive stuff. Either way I would think your system would run.
