Thermal Paste Question

ok i just rang up my local pc shop and asked them for some arcticlean thermal remover cause i don't have any of the other stuff you guys mentioned in other threads and he told me stuff that, you just use a tissue...is this true, can i just use a tissue to clean it off???

I use brake cleaner, goof off, or 99% alcohol on a paper towel to remove thermal compound.

You can use a tissue to clean the top stuff off, but there is a very very thin layer that you need to clean off with rubbing alcohol/water/etc. I would suggest rubbign alcohol.

Isopropyl alcohol... The clear one that dries up very fast?... The one you can find at rite aid?!

It's in with the first-aid stuff in a pharmacy, or pharmacy department. Get the stuff with the highest percentage - 91 or 99%. But if that's not there, 70% will suffice.

If you use your freakin beer expect to find your CPU sticky and be fried.
90%+ Isopropol + 25 QTips + Lintfree cloth to finish it off = Clean!
