Thermal Paste degrading?

K I have a really really old tube of Arctic Silver 3. It's probably like 3-4 years old. My problem is I keep having to re-apply it because my CPU temp keeps creeping up. It will be like 45-47C idle when I first apply. After a week or so its idle temp gets over 50-52C. Then I'll re-apply it and its back at 45C. Then it goes back up. Is it possible that the Arctic Silver tube has expired and it just doesn't work anymore?

Yeah, just blow 6 or 7 bucks on a new stick of AS5, and your problems will be gone!
