Thermal Paste and CPU Cooling for P4

I'm building my first computer and I wanted to find out where on the processor and how thermal paste should be put on a P4. Also what are the parts you need to cool a P4 2.53 ghz and what are the best (heatsink, fan?)?

As for thermal paste, some Arctic Silver should do fine. Don't put too much (0.003" layer will do).

The retail HSF is decent and will be sufficient in cooling your CPU. But you can also go out and get a new HSF like a Thermaltake Volcano 7+. Thermalright AX7, Alpha PAL 8045, etc.
BigFootComputers has a good selection.
