Thermal grease?

Im goin to pop in my p4 2.8c into my shuttle xpc and im wondering wether i should use the generic white thermal grease that came with the shuttle xpc barebones or use some Circuit Works thermal grease that i have...its silver based and is a gray color?

Depends. Do you plan on overclocking your processor? If not, just use whatever it came with.

Here's a roundup...

wow, a goop roundup involving Chillblast that doesnt have the CPU using Shin Etsu at below ambient temperature - at full load.

Actually seeing as mostly there's a 1c temp range and theyve not bothered to pretend temp monitoring is accurate by having several decimal places, it seems ok 😛

good goop is better than bad goop because it lasts longer, is easier to apply, and has lower electrical conductivity. OK maybe a minor difference in temp, probably then only between the good vs crap goop.
