Thermal fan question

I just got in a CreAir thermal fan and need to know how to install it. It's got the standard 3 pin fan connection, but it also has an additional two wires coming off of it which I am guess is the thermal sensor. I want to put this fan on my heatsink, so where do I put the thermal sensor? (if it is in fact the thermal sensor)

How thick is the sensor?

It should be nearly paper thin and there should be space between the core of the CPU, where the HS rests, and the surrounding material of the CPU. In that area is where you should attach the sensor.

Tip of the sensor is about the thickness of two 20 guage wires melted together forming a tear shape.

If your heatsink has thin fins it'll fit between them. Put it as close to the bottom as you can and it should work ok. 😉

Thanks. Exactly what I did.🙂

Make sure you do a good job applying the thermal compound! You might want to try following the directions on Arctic Silver's website - they work for any compound.
