I'm installing a Thermaltake volcano 6cu on my Athlon XP1700. It came with thermal paste, not with the strip of tape on the bottom of the heatsink I was expecting. Actually I understand this is better, but its my first time.
Should I apply thermal paste to just the silver square on the top of the CPU, or should I apply it to the whole of the copper circle on the bottom of the Thermaltake HS?????
My guess is silver square, but doesn't hurt to ask.
