he came from some south american country in 1998... his english kinda sucks.... told me he was 50 years old.

he only has a permit... wants a driver's license so he can have "fun"/enjoy life.... but he has no car for the road test... or anyone to take him there.

I asked him if his family or friends can drive you to the license place.. he told me he doesn't know anybody and his family doesn't trust him.
I guess he was hinting and wanted me to help him out but i told him i don't have a car... (I lied.. since i've never met this dude before)
I've seen him couple times before.. and he doesn't look like he has a lot of money... one of those bum looking types but not completely. he looks like he drinks alcohol a lot.

He also wants to go to school... he went to a local high school to register but they told him he was too old. Can't he take night school at a community college even though he doesn't know much english and came to united states in 1998? I usually see him on tuesdays and thursdays...
We also talked about immigration... i don't know what his current status is right now... but i told him i can help out and get the number to the immigration place for him.

What would you guys do? I would help him out... but i don't trust him... this was my first time talking to him. I would hate to be in his situation right now.... nobody giving him a chance.... nobody trusting him. Only if someone gave him a chance... and maybe he can gain trust or whatever.....
i would never give this guy my number or where i live,,, what car i drive or any of my personal info... but would like to help him out in a "safe" manner.

Don't help him. You shouldn't have even started talking to him.

edit: If you want to help him out, give him the number of a place that's meant to help people like that.

Please. Have the decency to read a few paragraphs, or dont crap on his topic.

No crap. In the future, posts will have to be 4 sentences or less for the reading impaired. :)

i was just waiting for the bus... accidentally walked up right next to him... i didn't look in his direction but he kept waiting until i acknowledged him... i just bowed my head a little and here he comes talking about his problems. I felt bad for the dude so i tried to listen since it seems like he has no one to listen to his problems. Everyone needs someone to talk to.... i know i do. I would probably go crazy ... like him.

My best advice is to mind one's own business particularly with the odd and random stranger chatting you up at a busstop.
If you must get involved, call a Church Group or Social Services. If he's undocumented though, you may create more problems for him.

Driving schools usually let you use their car for driving tests. They charge (more) if you don't take lessons from them though.

Yep. I know he sounds like he's got problems and it would be nice to help, but it would be best to stay away.
