There's something really wrong about this.

I've been watching this whole PS2 craze from the sidelines when someone sent me this this egay auction. The seller is a manager from Walmart and is selling his shipments on egay! Not that I sympathize with anyone who is willing to shovel out $1k+ for a gaming console but this is pretty messed up. Capitalism at its worst I guess. :(

I'd say it's gaming at it's worst. I mean, please, if you have time to stand in line for hours or are willing to pay that much, you need to get a life!!!

don't blame capitalism.
Things are always more expensive when they come out.
Remember when you bought that $200 voodoo2?
how much is it worth now?

supply and demand, my friend...simple as that.
I still can't see why anybody would want a PS2, or any console in general :Q

There is a picture on the front page of the Metro section of our newspaper that shows a 25 year old man giggling and beaming, clutching his PS2 as he leaves a Best Buy. The look on his face is priceless, I don't think I have ever seen anything quite like it.

I wish I could show it to you.... he is hilarious!

he doesn't even know who made the console.

manufacturer: playstation??

I think the launch of playstation II will be a memorable moment in history. Not because of the console itself, but for all this auctions selling for $1500.

I want to see the expression in the face of those people who buy them now, after the prices start to setlle down.

The truly funny thing about all of this is that for the upper price ranges on those auctions you can buy a good PC, and PC games a better. Bang for buck, sure PS2 is better, but if you are going to spend $1300, just get a nice PC. God!
