Fellow fans of classic DOS games might be interested to know that there's a port of Tyrian to iOS available in the App Store. I am apparently late to the party on this, as it's been out for awhile, but I discovered it the other day and have been playing constantly since then. The controls are serviceable but not perfect, but.. it's goddamn Tyrian on your phone.
If you never played Tyrian, then A) what the hell is wrong with you? and B) it's a vertical-scrolling shooter, similar to and released a year or so later than Raptor. Blast enemies to get points with which you buy new weapons and things to add to your ship. (The same company apparently also ported Rise of the Triad for some reason. Haven't tried that one, but might be interesting too if you were a ROTT fan.)
