It's a video clip of somebody overloading an AMD and overloading an Intel processor. They then took the heatsink/fan OFF, and watched the temps skyrocket to around 700 degrees or so.

I think it was from Tomshardware.com, but I can't find it anywhere.
 
It doesn't sound like a riveting watch to me...

Wouldn't the thermal overheating protection just shut it off anyway?

I am almost sure these videos are before the time of thermal protection.

infact, I think the AMD overheating vid I saw was with an Athlon Thunderbird... smoked almost instantly.
