AOL has seen it's user base explode to more than 30 Million users. It just goes to show that PT Barnum was right -- there's a sucker born every minute.

Now AOL is finding out that if a large portion of your user base consists of idiots, it's hard to keep the scammers from preying on those idiots. These are harly 'sophysticated scams' ;) Funny article though.

30,000,000 users at one sucker per minute, that's over 57 years of suckers. Unfortunately, I think AOL is sucking up suckers at a much faster rate.

I've warned my friends and neighbors, sign up for AOL and you will be targeted as a sucker, spammed with stupid offers\pornography and get into the stupidist chat room conversations that always start with some horny 14 year-old saying "age & sex of everyone please".

Better to hav no internet access at all than have AOL! :(

Hahah AOL, as sick and digusted you and the rest of the computer industry might think it is, you have to in the end, admit, that it is a very profitable company and that it is also one of the big powerhouse companies in today's internet economy. I mean it bought netscape, nullsoft, and it merged with time warner and still has money to expand. It might be the low life of the internet, but man is it making it big.....haha

Microsoft is OK... at least their software is useful.

AOL does suck though.

If you want to catch maggots, put out a piece of rotten meat.
Sooner or later a mega scam or AOL specific virus will appear and have the maggots scrambling for cover. Then it will be time to ROTFALYAO :p

AOL would have value if there was a way to reformat all those damn coasters they send out.
