There's a spider on the wall looking at me! Wish me luck.

It's small, damn wish I had my digital camera with me, I'd take time elapsed pictures of it as it runs, I spray it with RAID, watch it fall to the ground, limp away, stop, start twitching, then scoop it up with a paper towel.

Ack it's moving, brb gotta grab the RAID.

Ok I barely made it, grabbed the can of RAID by the time I returned it was around the Cisco 675 router and Sun Sparc Ultra 5, so I waited for it to move into open territory, it went back onto the walls, casually walked up the walls sideways, then it was almost at eyelevel with me. I cussed it out briefly, sprayed liberal amounts of RAID over it for a few seconds, it dropped, twitched then died, then I had to clean up the wall and floor.

Blech spiders it's now on a trip to the Willamette River.

poor thing.. you know it's funny how you make such high profile of this insect..

they don't think, their nervous system is not even advanced enough to feel 'pain'.. it doesn't know about death or anything..

tsk tsk

[edit]oh yea, Spiders aren't insects btw.. they have 8 legs (as opposed to 6) and is missing a torso (insects should have distinct 3 parts: head, torso, stomach.. like ants and wasps)

they're great ancesters of scorpions.. distantly related to lobsters and alike

I normally just grab spiders and toss them outside. They eat bugs that are more bothersome.

If I need to get rid of one, I don't use raid. Nasty chemicals. Newspaper does fine.

also another thing:

Spiders are very beneficial

aside from our own digust, they're clean, (not bacterial.. like flies and roaches) they prey on annoying house ants, bees, flea, and such..

they're good for you man.. go kill something else..

pics! Where are the damn pics!

I thought that "unspoken rule of the ATOT" only applied to threads about women? Correct me if I'm wrong or did you just amend that rule? :)

Seriously though if I knew where my Fuji Finepix 1400 is and how to operate it then I would have taken picts and posted them.

u should've whacked it with ur bare hands.

and touch the hairy spider? No thanks.

First it's 6, now it's 17? Why is it that people who spread urban legends fail to be consistent?

Speaking of Urban Legends, I hear you melt when you look into the mirror for more than 6 minutes if your name is RossMAN :Q!
