That has got to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Well, not as cool as when I overvolted a 1F capacitor :)

When I first showed that to the b/f ... when it originally came out... his first words were... "No RMA for those guys!"

;)

Ya, it was :) We used a sowing machine pedal to set it off. We were inside our house and ran an extention cord out to the cap that was buried in the ground. BOOM!

4V?? What mobo is capable of that even with voltmods? And with a passive air heatsink? Something's not right. Sweet video though.

Maybe they had a M-80 under the mobo and the monitor was hooked up to something else, like a P4 3.8GHz system and they photoshopped the CPU-z screenshot to say Duron?

EDIT: I was close.

Obviously fake. If they showed under the table you would have seen the squib wires. No cpu will blow like that if the HSF is removed. It will get hot and burn out and in the case with bare core chips you may see smoke eminating from overheating greases from TTC's etc.

Actually I have a video from THG that shows what an AXP does when you remove the HS while its running... they did it with two CPUs, the first just died in a puff of blue smoke & the second one burst into flames... no explosion I'm afraid.
