No, I'm not implying anything, that's exactly the case in this instance.

I used the word "appears" for a reason. They are probably only accepting b/c they think they can 'help/cure' him, not because they think he's a normal person being treated unfairly at school. They think he's a sinner who will burn in hell, etc. Unless of course they're Episcopalian.

Do you usually make unfounded assumptions when the facts don't fit your bias or are you making an exception is this case?

I don't think my son has any concept about "curing" anyone, but he was well raised and knows enough about how to treat people decently.

Perknose can you just find out who this guy's other account is and ban them both? I'm all about trolling but this shit isn't even creative or interesting at all.

This. Some of the trolling is wonderful, but some of these threads are just so uninspired.

I'm an Episcopalian who spent my high school years and have some of my fondest memories in the EFCA (Evangelical Free Church of America) which, coincidentally, is the denomination mentioned a moment ago by the OP. Which side of your stereotype do I fall on?

Hopefully he doesn't want to be a priest in your "cult" ... as "accepting" as they claim to be

Those seeking a credential within the EFCA are expected to uphold a high standard of holiness and wholeness, which includes beliefs and conduct (1 Timothy 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-9, and James 3:1). Therefore, the following will be applied:

1. Any person who (a) practices homosexual conduct in any form, (b) believes that homosexual behavior is a Biblically acceptable lifestyle for themselves or others, (c) willfully and habitually engages in conduct grounded in homosexual lust such as masturbation associated with homosexual fantasies or involvement with pornography, or (d) identifies himself or herself as homosexual, is not eligible for any level of credential for ministry within the EFCA. Furthermore, such persons who already have an EFCA credential will have their credential revoked.

i hate christians that don't take hardline stances on gays. it makes me sick because it against nature.

I feel the same way about liars, gossips, urserers and the self-righteous. All sins are equal. It's a good thing Jesus only hung out with the perfect religious guys and avoided the sinners at all costs, otherwise what kind of example would he have been setting for us??!?

please tell me this is not one of those religions with a live "rock" band and where people randomly close their eyes and waive their hands in the air as if jesus is sprinkling magic holy crystals all over their bodies

I have no idea what you just said, but I was merely tipping my hat to Jon Meacham who frequently jokes on the liberal nature of his denomination.

Since sexual orientation is the result of a persons upbringing, what exactly did you do to make your son gay? Did you dress him in pink clothes and buy him barbie dolls, or did you wear dresses and let your wife beat you in front of him?

No, far worse than that, I introduced him to ATOT.

Where did you get the idea he was gay?
