If it says "Press", click the mouse quickly. If you get it, there are various boosts that you get. Also, you can click up to 3 times when the AERIAL text is Red, and unlimited times when it's blue (though it has to recharge). The red sends you upwards again, while the blue sends you down. All of them keep you going and/or help you hit/avoid particular obstacles...

My best so far is just shy of 7,000... can't imagine how long 70,000 would take.
