Just this morning, on my way to work, I stopped at the store to get some cranberry juice. The lady in front of me had a few more things than me, but still let me go before her in line.

I was so suprised that she did that. In a world where everyone puts themselves first, this lady still had what it takes to let someone else go before her. I was losing hope in this city.

Thats all. Be friendly, folks.

:)

I agree! I gave an elderly lady five bucks the other day to cover what she was short for her groceries.

I was truly impressed with her gratitude.

I really wish everyone out there was like that. I grew up in a small town, and everyone was so friendly to each other. I loved it. I still love going back because a few people even still know me! But, here in Omaha, I feel like everyone here is so angry and self-centered.

I hope to get out of this city someday and move back home :)

Yep, stuff like that gives me hope for humanity. Holding doors for people is also more appreciated then you might think. I actually held the door to the student center for a family who was touring our campus a few weeks ago, and the dad actually remarked "huh, they hold the doors for you here". :)

I live in a town of 751 people. Everyone is pretty friendly. Hasn't been a major crime here in 10 years. The kind of place where everyone knows your name when you go grocery shopping. It caught me off guard when I first moved here. I was in the grocery store and someone called me by my first name. I turned and it was the local pharmacist, she wanted to let me know about a prescription error and had seen me enter the store. So she stopped her car, parked, came in the store just to tell me.

I was walking to the store and someone I never met pulled off the road and offered me a ride because it had started to rain.

However when I live in Tampa, Fla it was just the opposite. Not sure what cities do to people.

Yeah I've had that happen too OP, especially if I'm at a grocery store just to pick up a bottle of liquor or something. One of the major things I enjoy living in small towns is the friendly people.
