1) no audio - notice that there are "only" 3 capacitors directly on the upper right part of the CPU socket.

Question is, how come the boards with audio chips have more capacitors? What exactly are these capacitors for?

3) w/ audio - notice that there are STILL "only" 3 capacitors directly on the upper right part of the CPU socket.

Now here's the twist, how come this one HAS audio but only 3 capacitors, what gives?

4) Red box packaging

5) Green/Yellow box packaging

Any particular difference between the two?

I know, I know, who cares if it works fine, right? However, I'd really like to know the difference(s), eventhough how subtle they may be. Many thanks.
