There really doesnt seem to be much interest in The Sopranos here.

How come, it is really the best show on TV cable or not. It bitch slaps every other attempt at drama on TV, it makes ER look like Sat morning cartoons.

Just curious, the only complaint I have heard is from my bible thumping friends that the F word is over used, but I dont object to that.

I don't mind the F word being used but if it's excessive then it gets kinda old after a while. How often do they use that word?

I am probably going to buy The Soprano's: First Season (4 DVDs) for $59 later this week.

Goodfellas puts the Sopranos to shame in the "F word" department. :Q

If my local AT&T Cable Broadband would let me keep basic cable but slap on HBO for another $10 per month then I'd go for it. Unfortunately I don't think it's that easy, I have to get DIGITAL CABLE (biggest ripoff), no thanks. I'll just wait until I can find someone who can tape the episodes for me and/or buy the DVDs.

I watched one episode over Spring Break (the one when the psychiatrist was raped :( ), and decided it was just okay. Nothing to get too excited about, IMO... I might watch a few more episodes if I actually had a television, but The Simpsons would definitely take priority if both shows were on at the same time.

HappyKitten after just seeing one episode I can see where you might not be so impressed. But after watching a few of them, you really start to like these people, and feel their emotions, I think THAT is great acting and direction.

BTW the Dr. Melfi rape scene was one of the most disturbing scenes I have ever scene on TV and I really could not watch it. I have seen other rape scenes and they didnt bother me much, for soem reason the Dr. Meflfi scene seemed really realistic, and I have gotten to like the character so much, it almost seemed like it was happening to someone I knew.

How come

Umm... Maybe because I don't have cable, I've never had cable, & even if I DID have cable I shouldn't waste my time watching TV? It's probably a damned good thing I don't have cable, I'd never get anything done.

<< Yup, could care less. What's the facination with gangsters? >>

The interesting thing about the Sopranos is that it is not about gangsters. Gangsters play a large role in the show since it is the main protagonists occupation but the focus of the show is Tony Soprano and his family. It is definately not everyones cup of tea but it is the only show I make a point of watching on TV.

I like the show a lot but I didn't see last nights (I'll see it tonight, so I'm not scrolling down.)
