Every day I throw away 99% of my mail, and its getting tiring. As fast as I can call these companies and get off their lists, I get mail from other new companies. Its pissing me off...

So I want to start some movement for a national do-not mail list. I dont care how they get my address, I dont want their advertisements.

And FYI- I dont sign up for free crap, promos, or any contests. The majority seems to be unsolicited from local companies, which makes it harder to get off their lists.

Neither do I.

I get so much junk mail (mostly credit card offers) that I don't even bother to open my real mail (mostly credit card bills) except maybe once a month. Fortunately I pay my bills online.

I feel with you. Check this out. At my apartment complex, the mail room has one of the those large trash cans with wheels and a flip open lid. Before the week is half over, its full of ads and other junk mail.

Gotta be depressing to be a postal carrier and see that in the mail room as you put more junk in people's boxes.

There is a guy up in Alaska who tries to get as much junk mail as he can, signs up for everything. He burns it for heat in the winter.

Nah, the mail carriers are laughing all the way to the bank because advertisers are paying good money to put an envelope in a trash can hundreds of miles away. ;)

Also, if they include a self-addressed envelope that is postage paid, just stuff everything you can into that envelope, and send it back to them. Sooner of later, they'll get tired of paying the postage to get junk mail back from you, and remove you from the list...We send mortgage companies junk for credit cards, credit card companies mortgage offers, etc...PLUS, we send them their own crap back as well...

Supposedly you can tape that envelope to a box, stuff it full of junk, and they pay the bill :p I recall someone doing that, even got a tire in there I think.

I also hate all the junk mail and additional crap the bills come with, so the junk mail, I mostly write in big letters across the envelope MLNFA (ie :moved left no forwarding address) or DECEASED/RETURN TO SENDER

For the additional junk, I sometimes take one companies junk and send it to another, of course removing anything that has my name or info on it.
but least they have to pay postage for it

I agree, the amount of postal spam I get is insane. So much wasted paper. I recycle it, but I bet some don't, and in the end it is just wasteful. I think something should be done about it.

Yeah but imagine the loss of revenue for the USPS. They'd probably have to start charging us more for regular mail to make up for lost money.
