<< so i guess..there is no wAY to upgrade from WIN ME TO WIN PRO 2000? >>

OMG!! ye sthere is a way..but you just cant because of your situation. its pretty obvious that other people here have done it, and its just you thats having the issue. so to answer your question, YES! there is a way to upgrade winme to win2k, but its just that YOU are having a hard time with it. you should reword what youre asking or stating as some people will believe what you say.

Officialy, NO ... YOU CANNOT UPGRADE from ME to Win200pro

look for yourself

But, if like me, (and it seems a few million other people) you have a copy of Micro£oft Windows 2000 Professional "Corporate Edition" then, not only can you "upgrade" but you can also get a nice clean install

hope that helps a little ... ;)

Quick response..

Here goes:

Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows 98SE
Windows ME

These versions of Windows are "legacy" which do not allow you to to "upgrade" over the NT kernels. Here are the NT kernels:

Windows NT 3.x
Windows NT 4
Windows 2000 (pro/server/advanced/etc)

Even though Windows ME was released AFTER Windows 2000, upgrading will NEVER work. If you want Windows ME on your box, you MUST format your box -- there is NO other way. You can, however, upgrade Windows ME to Windows 2000.
