There is a high probability that I will have a mental breakdown at work.

Maybe its just the heat and stuff, but the guy who has a desk next to mine at work has really gotten on my nerves. What did he do? I CAN HEAR HIM BREATHING...its like he just went up a flight of stairs...all damn day. Wheez...Wheez...Wheez...Wheez, Drives me crazy.

Now if he had sinus issues or somethig I could be a little more understanding, but the fact of the matter is, he just let himself go. He got married about 3 years ago, now he is so out of shape, and gained so much weight that he just sits and wheezes all day.

Sometimes I can hear him chew food too, its going to be a long summer. Good thing I only have to be in the ofice about an hour a day.

I feel better after venting.

Sluggo- I remember hearing about a situation similar to yours on KROQ's Kevin and Bean segment in the morning.

Apparently one worker loved to sing along to the songs played on KROQ... the problem was that he didn't know how to sing.. the bigger problem was that he liked singing loud!

So one day, a co-worker called in and Kevin talked to the singing-freak.. he was like, "As long as I feel good, I don't care about the others around me"

So they start talking and then some other guy comes on the phone and says, "Your singing annoys me!" and the singing-freak replied - "Well, your constant farting annoys me!".

You've guessed it: the deal was that the farting-freak would stop farting if the singing-freak would stop singing... I dunno if a compromise was reached though :p

Maybe you should try to compromise with your co-worker here, I'm sure he'd understand that his breathing annoys you... or better yet, he might go ahead and say that your breathing annoys him! y'never know!! hehe, good luck on the situation =)

When you hear him breathing or eating, go to his desk with a concerned look on your face and say "Are you ok? You sounded as if you were dying!". 5 minutes later, if he continues, go back to his desk and say "are you sure you're ok?", 5 minutes later "I'll call the hospital if you want", and so on. Do this everyday and eventually, he'll quiet down so that he won't "worry" you.

Tallest1 , what if he'd have to force himself to be quiet, thus disrupting his normal breathing patterns... that certainly wouldn't be good for him... I say you straight out tell him instead of playing psychological games w/ him =)

Sluggo - so it was you all along! I should've known... you b*stard! ;)

Can't you listen to music or something while he does it? Something that won't distract you from working (with headphones).

<< are you sure he's not... pleasuring himself? >>

If he is, I wish he would just finish and quit breathing heavy.
