Ugh... here we go again with my computer goin ape sh*t on me. I was copying some files to my RAID disk, two Stripped 20 gig hard drives, and my comp just locked up. I had to restart and it came back in BIOS saying "Invalid RAID array", along with a loud (for a hard drive) scratching scound. This sucks.

This is the error log from SiICfg... if anyone can decipher anything from this it would be a big help. I don't know why it says SCSI error, cause they're regular IDE drives.

"13-September-2004 22:46.20 Warning - SCSI Error - Medium Error
Error ocurred on Secondary Master device on adapter 0. Secondary Master - Key 03 - ASC 00, ASCQ 00 - CDB 28 00 01 33 99 90 00 00 08 00 - INFO 01 33 99 90"

Is there anything I can do to salvage the info off the hard drives. The primary seems to be working fine. I unplugged them both to see if i can get any help on this issue. thanks ya'll

uh oh. good luck with this one. :(

maybe that freezer trick everyone is trying will work for that second drive.

fortunately none of my arrays has taken a crap on me. *knock on wood* :)

try hooking them up individually to the motherboard. see if they're detected in the SCSI controller.

it could be a bad raid card, in which case just swap it out with an identical card. or it could be a dead drive, in which case you're SOL.

just goes to show... raid0 is the devil ;)

I know the feeling mine just dumped last week, I heard the dreadful sound and caput.
I did put mine in the freezer and it worked to get some of my files off of it It died shortly after.

I think it's a dead drive cause it's making a lot of noise. Yeah RAID0 is definately evil... this is the last time I mess with it... EVER. hmmm, the freezer trick sounds tempting. Do i just stick it in there, or wrap it up in something?
