Everything is under control, it's all according to plan, no need to change a thing, because Hillary won the popular vote.

Sorry, 9 legislatures, and 16 govs.

Worst numbers since 1929...

Liberal has fallen out of favor. Today's Americans believe in f-ing themselves instead except, of course, in a few states. Only you can save yourself from madness. You can't cure the infected because they do not want to be helped.

Liberals have been corrupted by money and power, when you have to spend millions of dollars to get into office that pays a few hundred thousand at the most you end up with a lot more "corporate business friendly" Clinton types than Bernie Sanders types.

You can change the title....
As for the subject, I don't think people enjoyed the ACA. They cannot afford our insurance company boondoggle.
'06 and '08 were sweeping Anti-Bush victories. Then by 2010 the American people were upset in the opposite direction.
Every year that followed, as "affordable" becomes unaffordable, it further drives home the run against Dems.

State legislative chambers: R: 68, D:31.
State Governors: R 33, D 16
At the federal level, the house is solidly R, the senate just barely R, and the white house R.

Essentially what's happening is that the population in a few states (NY, CA, IL) overwhelmingly supports the D's, while most of the rest of the country is R. With the electoral college in place as it stands, having a huge majority those states impacts the popular vote but doesn't matter in the election outcome, and I don't see any way that's going to change. It's the same in most states as well, big city population centers are strongly D while the rest of the state is R. No state that doesn't already vote D every time will even consider changing the electoral college process for the presidential election.

Looks to me like the D's are on the good side of demographics over time (more minority voters), but failed to take advantage of it this election because they focused only on the hard left NY/CA/IL type voters and ignored the concerns of the more centrist independents and D's.

The country seems to be much more split among urban / rural lines than ever, on a local, state and federal level.

Corrupted by money and power? And do you blame Democrats for that? You don't think the system made that inevitable? I think you are so angry you need a target for your rage and have taken to blaming the way wheels turn inside of a machine. Everything is exactly as it has to be and there isn't anybody awake to blame. Would you kick a wind-up toy if you weren't also asleep?

And yet somehow, you'll still find a way to blame Obama for every Trump screw up.

Perhaps you-all should have objected more strenuously to Hillary as your candidate. I would have voted for a Democrat squirrel with mange before her.
