There are F-18s flying over my house...

Anyone know why? I live in Falls Church, a suburb of Washington. They've gone over 3 times today...

My office used to be just about 15 yards from the flight line on Naval Air Station. I think I have watched several thousand take offs and landings. Even saw a good demonstration of why zero zero ejection seats are a really good idea as the pilot dropped right in front of my window.

BTW: The F18's are probably just part of ferry flights or something. Could you tell if they were loaded down with drop tanks? carrying any missiles? You will often see armed F-16's around the area out of Andrews.

We generally get a lot of flyovers to and from Fallon NAS (Top Gun School)... F-18's, EA-6B's, P3 Orions and E2 Hawkeyes.... Occasionally get USAF A-10's and even a B-1 once... But traffic has been way WAY down the last month or two.... Everyones on deployment....

The Naval Academy doesn't fly aircraft. Pax River does.
