I just bought a KT7A RAID mobo and 1Ghz TBird. Is this the right fan? or is there something else I should use?
 
I would go with something else... It may work okay for you, but you're at the extreme edge of where a chrome-orb can still be effective... i know online tests say otherwise, but the vast majority are done "incorrectly".

I also recently got a 1G, KT7A, and chrome orb. MB thermistor readings were ~ 42C idle and > 52C under decent load. I am shelling out for a PAL and arctic silver. I am pretty disappointed in the chrome orb (although, admittedly, I should have done my research on the HSF!)
