theHate, most of us find Ronin abrasive, but you need to look past his arrogance and try to take something positive away from his posts instead of getting so upset.

If you need to unleash hate, do it in CS:S or something. You may even be able to win some money at it if your hatred is strong enough.

Well there is a slight problem. AFAIKTHey can only check your PMs, Ronin, if they reset your account password, login, and check from your account. Perhaps it has changed. But at anyrate, you should really PM them about this.

Another spiteful and insulting post from Ronin. This is why I think the mods should do something about you. You project a holier-than-thou attitude whilst belittling and insulting others and inciting them to flame you and then you come running to the forum to point out PMs they send you. If anything, the mods should do something about you, not theHate.

Beggerking did this to me so I know how it feels.

Ronin has been a long-standing member, and although he can be abrasive (and some would say "biased" - himself included), at least he is open with his intentions. He is also an industry insider and I have no issue with him remaining here (so long as AEG/nVidia aren't involved).

These new members full of "hate" should not be allowed to call out senior members such as Ronin and myself.

Ronin, dispite everything, I do still respect you. Best wishes.

Rollo has, on more than one occasion recommended an ATI product. It is obvious that he prefers Nvidia, but he does not go around blindly recommending them. IIRC, back when i was recommending the 5900XT over the 9800Pro, it was he who showed me and argued that the 9800Pro was the superior card.

Additionally:
* It is Rollo who posts a HUGE variety of benchmarks on the cards he gets
* It is Rollo who, when Intelia/Zinn2b etc.... threatened my via PM and E-Mail, advised me on a plan of action (nothing ever came of those threats though so i didn't really need to do any of it)

Need i go on.

You are sounding like a chaotic person who thinks they are doing good. By attempting to do this "good" you are bogging down these forums with endless posts and crap about this.

As for me, i haven't been influenced at all. I recommend ATI products all the time. If i had a choice right now, i would choose the X1900XTX hands down over the 7800GTX 512. I just enjoy reading and learning about computer hardware.

It seems to me that it is a result of Sickbeast parading around the forums causing problems "for the greater good" of these forums. The forums are retarded thanks to that.

The guys work for a marketing firm, BIG DEAL. They haven't done anything against the TOS, and they dont blindly recommend one product over another.

Oh, and dont think for a second that MS, ATI, S3, and Via dont have people doing such things. So stop trying to pinpoint this issue on one company or group of people.

He does, as stated, recieve video cards (be it free or reduced) but it doesn't seem to have affected his decisions. Rollo's opinions dont seem to have changed since he joined these forums, and i doubt AEG and Nvidia have had him for that long. In fact, now, he seems to recommend ATI over Nvidia more often than he used to.

Not only that he kindly benchmarks the Video cards he gets. It isn't until people come into those threads and start harassing him that problems occur. If i went out and bought 2x 7800GTX 512's today (No i cant, i cant afford it lol, Beach-week, Spring break, graduation etc..) and benched them i would be willing to bet that the community would have positive feedback. However if Rollo were to do this (and i think he did) he gets torched for no apparent reason.

I highly doubt this has affected his judgement. From looking at AEG's website, it seems like he is telling the truth.

Additionally, i dont know why people are all over Nvidia for this. They didn't do anything unethical or immoral. They simply have people out there marketing for them. The same goes for ATI and MS and everyone else.

THanks. I got into Virginia Tech early decision and am thrilled. Right now im not 100% positive, but i want to double major in BA and EE with a focus in Micro Processor Architecture.

No i was here. I was joined in '99, but i was 11 at the time, and made and account and forgot the password. Years later (like 4 lol) my Uncle recommended this site to me and i made another accout under IIRC Xplaya91. I then changed it to Gamingphreek. I remember, vaguely, but i remember. I had been building computers since i was ~7 years old. But i can honestly say that this forum is the reason i know all about the design, and architecture, and what not. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to come in here and learn and share so much. I cant begin to say how much i have learned in these forums.

I would go and bring up Rollo's past few topics (topics, not replies... He seemed to try to 'cancel out' his bias by at times speaking good of ATI, etc.), but I don't feel like looking them all up. I think we can all agree that he 'by coincidence' heavily favored NVidia.
