I'm aiming for a clean, simple look.

Any suggestions and comments? Let me know :)

Thanks!

A thread from almost 2 years ago bumped to tell us that a site from almost 2 years ago isn't around anymore. I'm shocked.

The banner is too big for my taste, and sans serif font please. Other than that it looks good, except I don't love the name.

After a quick visit to the site, I still don't really have any idea what it's about. Is it a deal site? Or are you offering financial advice?

If by clean you mean ugly, then it looks just like what you aimed for... I cannot stand people who do the stupid $ switch for S.

Yeah, the menu either needs to be vertical and inline with the header, or horizontal and below the header.

Also, a narrower page would be better. I browse in a non-fullscreened browser and I immediately leave pages that I have to scroll.

If you left align the content you can have more room for the ads on the right. Definitely has the out-of-the-box-wordpress look to it still. Menu below the header or on the side is a good idea too and the banner is too large.

Get rid of the "the" in the domain name. If you're looking to be taken seriously, you gotta get rid of it.

And make the main logo smaller. Not everyone rocks huge monitors (I do, but I know most do not).

Your credit card suggestions only contain cards for people with "Excellent" credit. Yet at the bottom of the main page, you linked to an article "What Is A Credit Score And How Does It Work". I'm guessing that most people who visit your site will be aspiring to be a "finance stud" and aren't going to have the credit necessary to get one of the "Best Credit Cards" you list like the Black Card. You should add another category for "Best Secured Cards" to be consistent with your site. Otherwise, you should think about who your target audience is (amazing credit? bad credit? noobs who don't know what credit is?) unless you're aiming for an all inclusive (all levels of credit) site. If that's the case, then you need to add more info (such as the credit card section).

The site needs lots of work. It seems like a narcissistic brag blog and there's nothing of use on it. People with excellent credit aren't going to come there. The other poster is right, you need to figure out your target audience.

I would never take anybody with the word stud in their blog seriously......that's a pretty retarded site name.

Don't you have any capital to invest in a properly hosted website without ads that deface and clutter the brand image you are trying to build?

I would take some capital invest it in hiring a professional to build your website, a professional to create a logo to identify your brand and host this website properly as well.

Your website sucks and is sophomoric in nature in terms of projecting a positive message for your franchise and it also fails to convey in a concise fashion any message of what services or products you are offering.

The page needs to be done professionally if you want to be taken seriously.

As for content, I don't know you and hope you succeed at whatever you're trying to do, but I have some issues with the image you're portraying. Some examples -

I've read 2 pages on your website that say you can help people get 1st class place tickets for the same price as coach, but you never say how. You also made your "welcome" blog entry on 12/22 where you claim to have increased the Net Worth of your clients, but you don't say how.

Your "About Me" says that you made close to $1 million by selling your website to Microsoft, which sounds really great, but the fact is that they just wanted rights to the name so they could release an xbox game with the same name. Saying that you made all this money by selling something to Microsoft comes with the implication that you built a website that had a valuable hi-tech product/service, but in reality it seems like you just got lucky because of an AOL screen name you picked a long time ago.

So...do you have something to offer visitors to your site? Are you offering your services for a fee or for free? Are you offering Financial Consulting? Do you want to help people create their own Ebay Businesses? Do you just want to blog about your life? Is it a deals site? In general I'm just confused by the page...
