The Z5 Compact is amazing

I've had the Sony Z5 Compact for a couple of weeks now, and it's one of the best phones I've ever owned. It's leaps and bounds better than my wife's GS6 Edge in terms of performance, battery life, camera quality. The fingerprint sensor works WAY better than I expected too. The only knock on the Compact is the 720p screen, but even that's surprisingly good quality (and the larger Z5 that more directly competes with other flagships solves that issue anyway).

It's really a shame Sony has little to no relationships with US carriers, and terrible marketing for their phones. They do really good work. Plus they're the only company still making smaller phones that don't suck, which is one of my pain points with modern phones.
 
As I've stated in other threads, I have an xperia z3 compact - and I agree that the compacts are great phones. It's a shame that Sony has bad phone marketing, because the compact are really unique in the current market.

Nice. When I looked about a month ago on eBay it's still $550. With quadruple or quintuple eBay bucks at $500 it would've been a pretty sweet deal.
 
Love my Z5c 🙂 Perfect size, great battery (I never think about it! first time ever), amazing camera, great speakers, little customization on the UI, waterproof and very sturdy (dropped it a few times already). Best phone by far I have ever owned and my two previous ones were HTC One M8 and HTC One. Battery, camera and perfect size are the top 3 things I like about it. And I always recommend it to my friends (some already got it based on the recommendation and they're extremely happy too).
 
Wife has a Z3c. It's really something amazing. I am extremely jealous. My next phone will likely be a Sony. My Note 4 can't compete with that thing on just about any level.
 
I really am surprised at sony for not hyping its phones. I have a Z3v and even tho it probably wont get lollipop let alone marshmallow, its a damn fine phone.

sony had been doing a 6-month refresh cycle
(granted there's no z4 compact, so z3c -> z5c = 1 year)

z = March 2013
z1 = Sept 2013
z1c = Jan 2014
z2 = April 2014
z3/z3c = Oct 2014
z3+/z4 = Feb 2015
z5/z5c = Oct 2015
 
Sony was Apple/Samsung back in the day. Every once in a while I'll pick up a bit of tech and think, huh, feels like a Sony product used to feel.
 
I am loving mine too! Great size and features.

I may be switching to Google Fi though, so if anyone wants a good deal on it let me know.

Really? I have put a debloated rom on my note 4 and it's just so smooth and fast. Only thing I don't like is the fingerprint scanner as it's not reliable.
