Too bad X-box is for people who can't build a decent computer.
I imagine most of the games ported to X-box and PS2 will find its way to the all mighty computer. So do what I'm going to do, have a kickass computer and a gamecube...that should cover the most games.

Is Gran Tourismo and Tekken going to be ported over to the PC or Xbox?.... thats the only reason why I bought the PS2 yesterday.. I love these 2 games

the devs will be writing xbox games for nv20 with a p3 700+ as a spec. on computers they'll still be writing for geforce 256 fillrate, very little t&l since its too specific, p3 600, 450 type processors. xbox games should be better looking off the bat. i'm concerned with PC devs used to constant patching programming for a console for the first time, though.

Uhh.. if you not interested Consoles, why post?

I personally will wait like a month after its released. Then I'll make up my mind. It's looking good so far (gotta wait for Game Cube though).

Well, the games for the XBox should actually look better than the games for PCs simply because the game engineers, programmers, artists, etc. do not have to make sure the game works for Billy Backwards running his Voodoo2 on a Celeron 266. They will know the full limitations and abilities of the XBox and be able to produce games that can (hopefully) push the machine to it's limitations (which I doubt will happen for quite some time).

PC games don't have to do that anyways, where as in a console all the consoles are the same and they design the game as such. Games nowadays are designed with flexibility to adjust such things as color depth, resolution, texture detail, model detail, smoke effects, etc., etc. So maybe if we're talking about Dune 2, then I see your point, but if we're talking about Sacrifice, then that rule doesn't really apply.

LMFAO

I hear it costs MS nearly $400 to make, but they're selling it at just over $300. Why!? What the hell for??

Every console make takes a hit on the actual units. They make the real money off of game sales and 3rd party licenses.

computers simply cost too much when all you want to do is play games.

I wonder how easy it would be to write a Bleem-like emulator for Xbox games.

i'd much rather have sega working for nintendo... would rule. not exclusive though, and sega could easily port games to PCs, so its a smart move on their part.

a nintendo 2nd party claimed those xbox "screens" were indicative of impressive software... photoshop. when asked further about the software underlying it he went into how easy it is to do things in photoshop. :D

gt3 is the same game with less cars and less tracks... yippee...

nintendo isn't having the ability to play DVD movies (it is a DVD drive) so they don't have to pay sony and toshiba $20 for every gamecube. panasonic, who is making the drive, may make a dvd/gamecube.
