This looks like a colossal waste of time. If you are going for something aesthetically pleasing, put the 360 in a rack out of sight.

I don't see you doing any better. How about the next time that all you're going to do is be an asshat, you just save the energy? The OP said it was far from done, now it looks much better than the it did in the OP, and they say it's still not fully finished.

I think it looks really good, and it's not even finished. The final product should look great. GJ OP. Definitely better than the stock white box.

oh so to post on forums you have to butter up and agree with the OP?

thanks for telling me the rules here.

looks cheap and obvious. this is more intriguing. also, most importantly:

This looks like a colossal waste of time.

that's the point. sometimes you have time to waste. you know, like by playing games in the first place?

also is a couple of hours really that collosal? if even that. i've worked on it in 15-20 minutes stints maybe 4-5 times. walking away for awhile lets anything i've applied cure, and also keeps me from ACTUALLY spending a large amount of time trying to fudge little tiny details to make my 'masterpiece' satisfactory for the internet.

2nd pic looks much better. It's pretty cool. It's hard to make it look like real wood I assume. It kind of reminds of the "wood" they used to put on dashboards and center consols of cars....just less glossy. Cool!

I never understood this argument. So because I'm not making movies, videogames, music, playing sports, or acting in a film, I'm not allowed to tell someone their shit sucks?

No, the point was that if all people are going to do is come into a thread and bash someone's hard work, they should just save their fucking finger strength. Constructive criticism is welcomed, but just saying "that sucks" without offering any advice on how to improve it is a waste of everyone's time.

the side panel in the first pic looks more natural for wood grain. the second pic, while more polished and smooth, looks too doctored for natural wood grain--the black staining looks like a big smudge.

Still, I think it looks damn sharp and no one should begrudge your efforts on such a meaningless, yet ultimately diversionary and hopefully satisfying project.

Looks like you spent a good bit of time on that. If you had spent that amount of time working somewhere you would have enough money to pre-order the R2-D2 Xbox 360...just saying.
