The WORST thing about ricers!

This is truly the worst thing about ricers. I cringe when I see it: Let's say you've got some guy in his CRX with a whale tail or a hand me down accord with stickers and some wet fart exhaust. Watch for it - any time a real car with some power drives by like say a camaro the ricer will start weaving in and out of traffic trying to stick near the camaro to attract attention as if they are real competition or something. I saw it yesterday with a mid 90's 240sx (looked like it had logged about 450k miles on it and it was red with a huge made-in-the-garage white "spoiler) trying to impress a new camaro and I saw it a few weeks back with a guy in his silver civic trying to impress somebody in their souped up BMW.

I hear ya. I passed this horrid pimped out civic on the highway yesterday.

I pulled by at like 85 in my relatively sexy Audi A4 pic

I watched in my rearview as he tried to catch up to me...traffic was nuts, and he was literally cutting people off and getting beeped at and what not

Finally i got stuck behind someone, switched over the right lanes, and he blew by me in the fast line, tailgating this other dude. It was quite amusing. (although i guess i'm sorta guilty for instigating the whole thing )

I saw a ricer next to me one day and held my hand to my mouth and pointed at him while tilting my head back slightly. He knew I was laughing at him and he looked down and got this look like a dog with a tail between his legs. It was sad because if you are going to destroy a perfectly good car with stickers and wings and mis-matched ground kits you should at least be proud of it and stand up for it.

Another time I had a ricer next to me on the right in a dual left turn lane and he looked at me. He was in an Accord with 3 friends. He tried to beat me so he could be in front of me at the next single left turn lane. I was in my 4Runner SUV boat and barely tried to go fast and beat him. Why they hell would he try to go fast in an Accord with 4 people?

I don't like the ones who ruin good trucks the most. Why buy a truck if you're going to lower it, take away the bumpers, put on goofy wheels, etc.? Trucks are built to be used. If you're going to waste money on crap like that, save yourself a few thousand bucks and get a car. Then take that saved money and buy at least good parts for it.
So many of these pieces of junk are just thrown together because they wanna look cool. They're not doing it for performance. Granted, a few cars on the road are riced but look and run good. But the majority are just punks buying the least expensive stuff to impressive 15 year olds. WAY COOL!

I was driving my friend to work in my parents car (98' Prelude) bone stock of course. I pulled up to a red light and I hear some engine revving so we look to our right and we see this riced up S2000 there... He keeps revving his engine and when the light hits green he starts to peel out and keeps speeding down the street till out of my sight. Five minutes later I see him down the street pulled over to the side by a cop..

Back when I used to go out cruising with my friends, I would always get someone next to me at the light revving his engine and all that stuff. Usually it people in pretty run-of-the-mill cars. I would rev my engine back a few times and then sit at the green light long enough for it to be obvious that it was on purpose. Of course they would go tearing off while me and my friend waved at them.

The people behind me at the lights always got a good laugh at this and we would never see the "opponent" again for the remainder of the night!

What even funnier is I can and have out driven most of them in my 95 Mazda Protege.. STOCK. But then again I have paid for some driving lessons from the Skip Barber school. Expensive but well worth it!

But they make themselves such easy targets for ridicule. Like I said, I wouldn't poke fun so much if they made their rides look good. But 95% of the ones I see are garbage. It's like handing a hunter a gun and saying "Now don't shoot the wounded, three legged, deer."

Have you ever eavesdropped or overheard ricer conversations? It's the funniest! I was at the gym and these young kids were talking about their "m4d 1337 $h17 j0" like the one guy that added a knight rider like scanner to his rear view mirror and them talking about shift knobs and lowering springs. I had to try to contain myself from laughing out loud.

Later I did kind a feel sorry for them, to be spending good money on crap that doesn't make you faster at all and makes your car feel like crap. They're young kids too, looked like high school or early college age... but then again not all kids are ricers. There exists older rice too... ack, I can't stand it when a punk in a V6 Accord with Altezzas tries to race me... even when they get a nice good look at the GST badge on the back of my car. I've actually had ricers ask me what a GS-T is since they've never seen one before... "T = turbo!" DUH!

Worst part is that most ricers don't get it... you pull them like they're standing still and they still wanna play??
Ricers are a waste of gas and are comical at best... typically very annoying.

BTW, I never rev my engine on people... though I am guilty of practicing my launches at red lights occassionally. But that's just for my own kicks.
