Oh, BTW, what camera do you use?

That was my beloved sony trv900... we shot in b&w because it was a parody of "indie" movies and because we were using the house lights and the color temperature was all out of wack ... my new camera is a canon gl-2 but I still miss my little sony..

Nice gear dude. I'm an aspiring filmmaker that just got his first camera. It's one of those new 2004 model Sony's, the HC20. I was going to get a TRV22, but they were sold out everywhere I looked. The camera is OK for a beginner and the only problem I see is the low light capability of this thing, especially since it only has a 1/6 CCD.

Let me ask you a question. How is the low light capability on the GL2? It's an interesting cam.

Funny you asked, me and some of my "peeps" spent 9 hours today testing out my GL-2 in various lighting situations. The low light was stunning!
Here are some samples - these are camera tests and not narrative stories ;)

All of these shots were done using available light (I would consider the diner shots "low light")

http://www.shallowwastebin.com/diner.mp4 - white balance is off, first day using the camera ;)
A nice shot taken in camcorder mode NOT still mode...

Good luck with your productions and let me know if you have any questions! I'm a newbie but newbies can still learn off of newbies, right? ;)

Glad you liked it :) I shot every moment the fat indian wasnt't on camera (I'm the fat indian). I wanted to frame the shot of blood getting on my face so I set the camera angle up there as well too.. I used adobe premiere back then since I didn't have a mac.. This is four years ago- now I have final cut pro and use this great package called Vega Video.

The girl with the bat directed the shots of me acting terribly. She also acted in my first commercial - she' died in like 4 of my productions!
