The worst job you ever had?

I was in high school then. Must have been 16 or 17 and I was desperate to make some money. So I got a job at Burger King. This was in fact the worst job I ever had. Back then we had a cash register that was from the 80's while McDonalds had touch screens. Come to think of it. McDonalds had touch screens before touch screens were a thing. And this was circa '97. So I had to operate this old POS (Piece of Shit) and I kept screwing up. So the fat ugly nasty woman of a supervisor put me on making burgers. When I made the burgers I truly gave them their burgers worth. Then this other guy was like, "you always make 'em like that?" I was like, "why not?"

All of the employees were my age and were useless slobs. Behind the counter were burger wrappers and trash all over. Then when no supervisor was around, these two love birds would go into the freezer and fuck on the frozen beef patties. But that's nothing. There was customer that came through the drive thru and the fat ugly swine of a supervisor knew them and didn't like them so she spit in their burger. It was beyond gross, let me tell you. It wasn't so much she was butt fucking ugly from the begin with, but she let her spit drool onto the burger. Being the young and dumb kid I was I never reported it. But I always remember that and it bothers me to this day. I mean, these people ate that shit. Fing disgusting! It's why I don't care for too many fast food places anymore.

So yeah. One of the worst jobs I ever had.

The most physically demanding job was with UPS as an unloader during the summer.

Goodness, it was hot and humid and the packages were heavy and all unloaders had about 2 seconds to move each package.

One of the jobs i used to dread at the farm was unloading semi-trailers of wet peat moss bags in the winter, they where something like 4 cubic meters and weighed around 75 pounds dry, but where never dry...

I decided to take a factory job out of high school to help pay for collage. Lasted two weeks. I'm just too good for that kind of work.

Had a high school summer job installing wood flooring in a massive gym at University of Illinois. I think it fit four basketball courts. You'd work all day and not really see any progress.

It wasn't that bad though, was making ~$500 a week which meant pretty much unlimited weed and beer. I think it was just my introduction to what it meant to work for a living that made it seem difficult. Come to think of it, it taught me that work sucks I didn't have another legal means of income for another six years through the rest of high school and college.

I worked for an absolute bitch once, the job was fine but she was an absolutely horrible boss and I have never been happier to get laid off from a job in my life. I used to scan the obituaries to see if she had died because that would have made me smile. My first job was washing dishes in a supermarket deli. That job was preferable to working for the evil lesbian. God I hated that miserable bitch.

I've gotten something out of every job that I've had.

Good man.

But the question was: Worst Job you've had?

Out of all your jobs, which was the Worst? Even if its really good, one of them had to be lowest of them, relatively.

I hate to use the word "worst" as it was still a good job, but I never really had any really terrible jobs so I'd have to say it's when I worked at the hospital. Since high school I had pretty much dreamed of being a server sysadmin or IT guy or something along those lines. And it was THAT job. I had done the job before as student but this was the real deal. 50+ servers that I am partially in charge of (we were two). We got to work witih SANs, VM servers, and other fun stuff.

The job itself was great, but the politics and the IT manager there made it a very poisoned environment. It actually got to the point where I dreaded going into work every morning. I was about ready to flip out on that IT manager, and I think that's what he was trying to do, to push me over the edge. He was constantly on my case about the most petty stupid little thing. He was like that with everybody but near the end he seemed to do it more to me. I'm more of a quiet and passive type and was youngest there so he probably saw that as a weakness he can attack. There is no reason to put up with that shit, so when I saw a job opening at my company (I was a contractor) I jumped on it. Best thing I ever did, still at that job now.

1,000 gallon bags? Peat moss must be much lighter than I imagined!

I spent a summer working as a grounds crew member at a water park. I was responsible for watering plants, pulling weeds, changing garbage, cleaning bathrooms etc.

Several times while pulling weeds customers had asked, "Who did you piss off to get that job?"

Emptying garbage barrels filled with diapers and various beverages that customers did not finish was also a nightmare, especially when the liners had holes in them.

The worst part of the job: the bathrooms had low flow toilets. I'm sure you can imagine the horrible, unspeakable messes that resulted.

Walmart. Everyone should be forced to work a retail/customer service job, if only so that everyone realizes how goddamn nasty they are to each other. Only maybe 10% are miserable assholes but that 10% was enough to bring me to the brink many, many times in the 2.5yrs I worked there.

Working at a plant that made drywall. Cleaning the rock crusher while it was running, cleaning the ovens which you had to crawl into, greasing 7 miles of roller belt on your knees and, rock dust totally destroying anything you wore.
