No, the worst accident in auto racing was when Dale Earnhardt died...I wrote this song to commemorate the occasion.
:music:
It was just another Nascar night
Kept on waiting for a crash or a fight
Me and my buddies were almost out of beer
Thought we might have to wait another year
Oh, but how could we have known....
This was the night that would shock us to the bone
For when you slammed your car into the wall
It took us a moment, then we were appalled!
DALE.....how could you leave us like that!
DALE.....nothin' left to do but sit around and get fat
DALE....now I've lost my whole will to live
DALE....all us rednecks would be willin' to give
Anything to bring you back....
We neeeeed you....
We neeeeed you....:music:
*sniff*
I take extreme offense to that. The day Senna died was indeed much worse than that.
One death cannot be worse than another.
Both were equally sad.
Well, perhaps you forget that Roland Ratzenberger died that weekend during practice for the race the Senna was killed in and Rubens Barichello almost lost his life in a horrible accident during practice/qualifying (can't remember) for that race on Saturday.
Yeah, there were many things that went wrong in the OP's accident but that was more than 50 years ago. Deaths in motor racing particularly to a 3 time world champion are very very rare. I think that race at Imola in 1994 will rank up there as one of the blackest days of motor racing history.
