It's definitely small and has great sound quality, but it's not the smallest. The iPod Shuffle is quite a bit smaller, though both are small enough where it shouldn't matter. The Clip+ also has a screen and decent interface, while the Shuffle will leave you pressing back and next to find the song you want.

I love my Clip+ 8GB. The MicroSD slot is what really makes it well worthwhile.

it pwnez the iPod really? Yeah Apple selling more iPods in a minute than Sandisk does is a week is huge ownage on Sandisk's part haha. The SQ thing people who hate Apple always bring up is played out, yes older iPods didn't sound great. And by older I mean WAY older. Newer iPods all sound great, my 5g Nano sounds awesome. But then again I'm not stupid enough to pretend I know the sound difference. If you blind folded me and used my headphones on my Nano, a Zune and a Sandisk Clip I couldn't tell the difference. And regardless of what you think, you couldn't either OP.

It's ugly as sin, I'd take a new Nano over that any day.

Available space, size, and "quality" of headphones aren't the only factors that effect consumers decisions. Form and functionality are what made Apple huge, and this device just doesn't have it.

I used to be a member at anythingbutipod.com, but now it seems like other mp3 players are kind of dying off. Especially since after the Zune HD not selling as well as MS would of hoped.

During the days of the Zune and Samsung P2, there was a slight window of opportunity of grabbing the MP3 player market away from Apple, but now it seems like the boat has left. Today it seems like iPods are more popular than ever.

I think its more of a matter of smart phones making mp3 players not necessary for everyone that wants to listen to music on the go.

Probably.

As phones become more capable, MP3 players may disappear. Younger people would be their main market.

doesnt meant the clip+ isnt better than the ipod clippy nano one.

teh screen is nicer, and you arent stuck using itunes

I have the creative zen stone till I put it through the wash twice, and it was way cheaper than a nano, smaller at the time, and would sync with my WMP playlists or let me drag and drop

itunes is a whore to get to know and operate so any mp3 player that doesnt make me use it already gets +1

confused here, are you really saying the screen on the Clip+ is better than the Nano? UHH NO... Also you don't have to use iTunes, this has been gone over, and over (and over and over...) there are dozens of non iTunes programs you can use to sync an iPod.

I was gonna get one for my wife for running, but playlist management seemed pretty much non existant. There were some ways, but it required alot of extra steps. She got a shuffle and it manages her playlist perfectly. I may pick a Clip+ up, especially if there's a good deal around BF. I love the FM radio and expandable storage.

I got Sansa Clip+ 2 months ago. Has a radio, voice recorder, better sound, more storage, and cheaper than a competing iPod. Also I wanted something that I don't have to sync with any programs, at all just drag and drop. Makes it much easier.

That's because you are old, or have hearing damage. Yes, a lot of people can tell the difference, don't hate because you can't relate.

The sound quality difference between my Clip+ and my friend's 2GB Shuffle is very noticeable. We tested with the same 256kbps track, same headphones, and same environment. A Nano / Touch is probably much better in regards to sound quality, but those aren't what the Clip+ is competing with after all. Look at the price tag.

The bottom line is, aside from physical size, the Clip+ blows away the iPod Shuffle in every respect. The Clip+ has more storage at the same price point than the Shuffle, a small display for choosing music tracks, equalizer settings, playlists, FM Radio, etc., MicroSD slot for expandable storage, better sound quality, and a drag-and-drop interface to add songs / podcasts / etc. to the PMP - no need to download some kind of iTunes hack or alternative program.

Interesting. I've been looking for something to take running and this looks like a good candidate. I know this is old school of me but the FM Radio is actually a pretty good selling point.

We aren't supposed to stream at work and the FM reception for my portable AM/FM/CD player is spotty.
But I can hook my clip up to my pc speakers and it gets FM reception just fine.
Only drawback, I can't power it off USB and still use FM so I have to make sure it's fully charged.

I have a Sansa Fuze and only use it for running. Not sure if they've fixed it with a firmware update but I hate that the mSD is treated as a separate drive. The interface isn't very elegant either.

Meh. I have the older clip shown in the video. I was given it for free. Never use it.

iPod wins with integration with other systems such as car, docks, home hi if, etc.
