The World's Fastest GPU

I recently recieved the latest TigerDirect catalog, and according them the world's fastest GPU is a PNY Geforce FX5500, and it just got faster.

I would have put this in the Hot Deal section, but the item is no longer available. They must have sold out quick since the world's fastest GPU was only $29.99.

SLI'ed 5500 are probably slower than a single RADEON 9200. :laugh:

Man, they still have 4200 video cards over at my Walmart. They shouldn't sell them altogether!
 
Another thing to consider is that a lot of computer illiterate people buy and judge video cards based on the amount of VRAM alone.

And considering you can get even FX5200s with 256MB, I do suspect those cards will be produced for a long time to come.
 
back when i was a complete noob tigerdirect would make me buy things 2 years obselete making me think i can play all the games with no slow downs with it

doubtful, the radeon 9600se can match the fx 5500, the 9600 vanilla matches the fx 5600 vanilla, but in dx9, the fx 5500 is as fast as a 9200 lol
