Because of the crystal-clear water, Flathead Lake in Montana seems shallow, but in reality is 370 feet in depth.

Photoshop or not, none of the pictures the OP posted show 375 feet depth.

Do you also tell the ladies that your penis seems short, but in reality is 12"?

Family just closed on a water-front property on the Western side of Flathead. Can't wait to get up there.

Wow you acted fast.

Does the OP get a commission?

He should!

How random that this Lake was brought up when I hadn't even heard of it until April, when I was a few hours away in Missoula, MT visiting my mom at a vacation home. Now there is another excuse to go to Montana only a short drive away. :)

"Pray for me. I drive 93."

That used to be a very common bumper sticker in that region.

In the mod-70's, I drove truck, delivering meat to restaurants and stores in that area. From Spokane to Missoula, north to Kalispell and around the park, back across the northern route,(US2) down through Sandpoint and into Spokane.

LOL, I-95 near me is very dangerous, first off is what I call the "malfunction junction", exit 260A is what I use but the problem is if you look above it there is an on-ramp for cars to enter I-95 southbound they both share the same 200ft lane, cars entering 95 south are trying to build up speed to merge and cars taking 260A have to dump speed quickly as the ramp is very sharp so you have cars trying to sharply accelerate and cars trying to sharply decelerate in one tiny lane, a few times I simply could not make the maneuver and wound up continuing down 95 south to the next ramp. Then FHP has almost no presence on the road, they prefer to hide in wooded ares a few miles up the Hwy and tag speeders on radar, the result is a "wild west" syndrome resulting in many accidents, cars routinely going 90 passing on the right, tailgating galore, you name it. Last weekend was a bad one, 6 people dead in 2 days. An accident in the northbound lanes caused "rubberneckers" to clog up the southbound lanes, a woman driving a semi didn't notice the stopped traffic and she slammed into it killing 4 people and herself as well. I should have a bumper sticker made, "I-95, stay alive" LOL..here's the junction I was talking about and some pics from last weekend and a video from a car passing by,http://www.news-journalonline.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?Site=DN&Date=20140602&Category=NEWS&ArtNo=140609936&Ref=V1&Profile=1040&MaxW=728&logo=/images/watermark.gif&logoxpos=0&logoypos=0

Some reservoirs in Westchester NY are about as clear at that depth. Pretty sweet all the same.

A lot of areas in the Great Lakes/St Lawrence are that clear, particularly where there are a lot of zebra mussels.

The shadow on the bottom is a dead giveaway that it isn't very deep. Pay attention to your shadow: while it might be longer than your body, given the angle of projection, it isn't *wider* than your body. If that shadow were 300 feet more distant, the apparent width of the shadow would be much narrower than the raft in the foreground. That is, imagine how a person would look who was standing 300 feet beyond another person in a picture - they would appear smaller.

:(

Anyway, that Montana lakes reminds me of Big Springs/Kitch-iti-kipi in the U.P. of Michigan. Been there a few times as a kid, and the water is really clear. You can take a little boat/ferry ride across it which has a partial glass/clear bottom and see all the fish beneath. You used to could throw pennies into it too but they stopped allowing that some years back, haha. Cool stuff:

torch lake is pretty damn clear.

the thing about lakes though is there isn't really anything cool to see down there. nothing nearly as colorful as stuff you would see in a tropical reef, both plants and fish.

it's also not just the clearness of the water that makes that picture of the woman on the raft look so clear to the bottom, it's how calm the water is. that plays just as big a part as the clearness of the water.
