I was browsing the BBC news website, and the headline was "Palestinians agree steps forward". I assumed the lack of "on" or "to" was a typo. But the article itself did this as well. I consulted the dictionary and in fact this usage was listed, though it was noted to be chiefly british.
Would this be incorrect in the US, or since the English use English in this way is it ok here as well? I am trying to decide whether to start using it, as it is slightly less work when speaking or typing. I am sure you will all agree that.
